The Islamic Studies Circle is a structured online study programme designed for women who wish to develop a consistent habit of seeking knowledge and deepen their understanding of Islam through the study of beneficial texts. Through guided lessons, discussion, and reflection, students explore important aspects of Islamic belief, character, and practice while building a stronger connection with their faith.
The course provides a supportive learning environment where women can study together, benefit from carefully selected works, and continue their journey of learning in a structured and purposeful way.
1. An Online weekly study circle for sisters seeking beneficial knowledge
The Islamic Studies Circle is an ongoing weekly gathering for sisters who wish to increase their understanding of Islam through the study of beneficial books, authentic texts and the lives of the righteous.
The aim of this circle is to create a space where sisters can learn together, reflect upon important Islamic teachings and discuss how they can be applied in our daily lives.
Rather than following a fixed syllabus, the circle will develop over time according to the needs and interests of the class. We will explore carefully selected works covering areas such as faith, worship, character, family life and the examples of the early generations of Muslims.
2. What We Will Study
Our studies will include, inshāʾAllāh:
- 📖 A Righteous Wife and a Dutiful Husband
A study exploring the foundations of a righteous Muslim home, relationships and responsibilities. - 📜 The 200 Golden Hadith
Studying one hadith each week and reflecting upon its meanings and practical lessons. - 🌿 The Lives of the Ṣaḥābiyāt
Learning from the examples, sacrifices and virtues of the women of the early Muslim community. - 📚 Foundational Islamic Texts
Including works such as Uṣūl al-Thalāthah (The Three Fundamental Principles).
As this is a weekly study circle, we may focus on selected chapters or sections from a book rather than completing every text in full during class time. This allows us to explore a wider range of beneficial works while, inshāʾAllāh, encouraging students to continue their own personal reading and complete the books independently.
Future books and topics may also be chosen based on recommendations and suggestions from class members, allowing the circle to remain relevant, beneficial and responsive to those who attend.
